Beloved Bestselling Author Lived on Vashon
Betty MacDonald, author of The Egg and I (1945), Onions in the Stew (1945), The Plague and I (1948), Anybody Can Do Anything (1950), Nancy and Plum (1952), and the Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle (1949) series lived on Vashon from 1942 until 1956. While on Vashon she published all of her major books. The house where Betty wrote most of her books is on Dolphin Point, Vashon Island, along with the large barn Betty had built.
